Families across Oxfordshire will be able to take advantage of the scheme, which forms part of the Government's Great British Summer Savings programme aimed at helping with the cost of living during the summer holidays. Eligible children will be able to make unlimited journeys on participating local bus services at no cost to their families.
The initiative is designed to make summer days out more affordable. For Oxfordshire families, this could mean cheaper travel to local attractions, parks, museums, shopping centres and neighbouring towns, while also encouraging greater use of the county's extensive bus network.
With child bus fares typically costing between £1 and £2 per journey, the scheme could provide meaningful savings for families over the school holidays. Free travel will be available on participating bus services throughout Oxfordshire, with no registration required.
Alongside a reduction in VAT on tickets for attractions like soft play, amusement parks, and museums, the Great British Summer Savings will help you and your family see and do more this summer.

And don’t forget single fares are still capped at £3 on most services and you can still travel for Free on buses from all Oxford Park & Ride sites until 15th August 2026. Just pay for your parking and the Bus is Free for up to two Adults and three children (under 16).
